On the contrary, it has the advantage of being removed from the bustle of the coastal towns—less crowded and untouched by large tourist groups. The little town, situated only 1 km from Ravello (Villa San Lorenzo is at 3 km), comprises a series of charming hamlets such as Campidoglio, San Pietro, Santa Caterina, Pontone, and Minuta. The exclusive Residence Villa San Lorenzo is located on the gentle slopes of Scala, the oldest village on the Amalfi Coast. The residence, once an ancient country house, has been entirely restored and sits in one of the most panoramic positions in the high hills above the coastline. Each apartment offers not only breathtaking views and complete privacy, but is also equipped with a private outdoor Jacuzzi for up to six people, providing a unique and relaxing experience immersed in nature and tradition.

Distances: A grocer’s shop, with its own freshly baked bread, is just few meters away. Close by are also other village shops, bars and restaurants, notably at the albergo Margherita, which also has a swimming pool available to visitors for a small daily charge. There is plenty of parking in Scala; a regular bus service operates from the central square to Ravello and Amalfi. There are also three buses a day (7.oo, 13.oo, 18.oo) between Amalfi and this bus stop. Tickets can be obtained at the Tabacchi or at the bar “Caffetteria da Lorenzo” in the main square. The seven-km drive to Amalfi down the hairpin bends of the Valle del Dragone offers spectacular views of the sweeps of hills and small villages down to sea. Once in Amalfi there are regular bus services to the other towns in the region: Ravello 2 Km - Amalfi 7 Km - Sorrento 39 Km - Salerno 30 Km - Positano 24 Km Ferries and hydrofoil ply daily from Amalfi to Capri (1½ h.), Positano (20 min.), Ischia (2½ h) and Salerno (1 h.).
