Walking Tours on the Amalfi Coast

This journey through time goes back to the origins of this area. It is the realization of a subconcious dream, a return to the natural order of things, revaluing environmental and ecological resourses of the rural sector.
It is only on the Amalfi Coast, with its 'steep cliffs descending to the sea' ( as Homer is said to have called it), that you'll find this little treasure chest filled with unexpected beauties, cultural curiosities and such sights to see without equal any where in the world. Follow the footpaths that lead directly from the VIth century through the many small towns of the ancient Maritime Republic of Amalfi. It is an adventure that repays, many times over, the efforts of curious and discerning excursionists.
It is true that these footpaths have been little cared for through time, and for decades were even little remembered. It is due to the passion and interest of foreign visitors to this area, and to the energy of a new generation of local mountaineers that this network of communication has been rediscovered.
The Republic's territory stretched along the coast from Cetara to Positano and included the inland areas of Tramonti, Ravello and Scala. The higher reaches included Furore and Agerola ( peak of the Lattari Mountains) descending to Pimonte, Lettere and Gragnano.
With Ravello or Scala as a base, we have a semicircle with a diameter of 2 km, and just look at what you can see :
